Q: What is digital ( or electronic ) publishing?
A: The best examples are e-Books. They are electronic books
that can be read on a computer.
Any web page on the Internet is also an example of electronic publishing.
It's not limited to these 2 examples, but you now have a basic understanding.
Q: How does electronic publishing relate to self-publishing?
A: It makes self-publishing much easier than it would be in the print world.
Anyone can self-publish electronically without paying outrageous fees from vanity publishers,
or getting rejection letters from regular publishers.
Q: What is the quickest, easiest and most profitable way to enter electronic publishing?
A: By selling e-Books that you own the resale rights to and
therefore keep 100% of the sales price.
Q: Do I have to write my own e-Book in order to have
the resale rights?
A: NO. Membership to this site will provide
you with many complete e-Books with full resale rights. Plus other software and reports with master rights. You will be able
to start making money right away.
Click here for complete details of all membership benefits.
Q: I thought it was a copyright violation to sell someone else's intellectual product.
A: Not necessarily. It totally depends on the author or developer. They have the ability to grant rights as they see fit. Chances are, you don't own the operating system and
many of the programs on your computer right now. You have a license to use them under
the terms of the license agreement. That same principle works with resale rights as well. The author
can grant you rights to resell the products under certain terms. Generally speaking,
you can not claim to be the copyright owner, nor claim the product to be your creation.
There are a number of standardized licenses available for software and other intellectual
properties (one of the most common is the GNU license). I discuss these in the member
section and give suggestions of how you can capitalize on these properties, even when
you cannot sell tham directly.
Q: Do I have to pay royalties and do the resalerights expire?
A: No and No. You never have to pay royalties and the resale rights never expire.
Q: Is this the only place to get ready made e-Books with resale rights?
A: Certainly not! There are many other places. We believe we have
one of the most affordable and helpful membership packages available. Please bookmark
this site and shop around. I ask that you compare each offer carefully to find the best
one for you.
Q: I'm still not sure about this e-Book thing. Can you tell me
more about them and the ways they make money?
A: Sure.
e-Books are already very popular and the future looks extremely bright.
Most people seem to just love reading them! Almost all Internet marketers
are becoming aware of what a great marketing tool they can be, also. And,
remember you're not limited to selling just e-Books. There's a ton of
free software available, just waiting for you to put it to work!
Giving them away as a free download,
or selling them is a great way to build web site traffic and back-end sales.
Selling high quality e-Books is really the best because of the front-end money
and the lasting back-side potential. How? By links in them that point back to your web site, or sites you are promoting.
Selling them with resale rights to your customers can cause your e-Book(s) to
spread to all corners of the Internet quickly and efficiently. It's like having a
sales force working for you for free!
Due to their digital nature there are lots of advantages.
No shipping hassles or costs. They can be delivered by Internet download or e-mail.
Plus, you never have any inventory problems. Copies can be sold an unlimited number
of times without restocking. Even if e-Books and other digital info products are
not currently in your product line, there are many good reasons to strongly consider it.
If for no other reason than for web site promotion purposes, as described above. But,
there is an even better reason why you should not only consider it, but
commit to it 100%.
It's only a matter of time until sales tax will be a reality on
the Internet. What a bookkeeping nightmare this could be for Internet
sellers of "tangible" merchandise. There is no tax on "digital" content
and it is not being proposed. See, the future is bright indeed.
Q: So, if I didn't write the e-Book, how do I get these links
pointing back to me and my sites that you keep talking about?
A: First, let me explain what the competition is doing, what is wrong with the concept,
and the solution I have for my members. I bought into a couple of "ultimate" or "master"
packages, and learned these secrets the hard way.
A popular concept is sell several e-Books as a package.
Each e-Book in the package is downloaded from one "Master"
e-Book. This is a very good concept, your buyer will likely
use the master e-Book often. Some of the web sites offering
these packages will "customize" or "brand" the master e-Book
with your name, web address, and a few links. This is good.
But, there are some drawbacks. First, the creator
of the package usually puts links pointing back to THEM.
These master packages usually have an "update" feature.
When your customers download the newest version of the
master e-Book, guess what happens to the branded/customized
copy your customers got from you? ZAP! It's gone, but the links to
the creator of the master e-Book are still there.
You are now, pretty much, out of the picture.
Another bad thing is, when you buy one of these
packages, they will allow you to "brand/customize"
the copy you resell, but strictly forbid you to
do this for your customers. The trouble with this is,
when you can't customize the master copy for them ( your customer),
sometimes they will go to the creator to get them
to do it. That is when it can turn ugly, because they
can say sorry , you have to buy it directly from US,
in order to get the customized version. After that,
some will demand a refund from you,and go buy it from them.
I know for a fact this happens, because it has happened to me several times. I know some will hate me for telling this, but it is TRUE, and
anyone entering electronic publishing needs to be aware of the facts.
Q: Are there any tricks or schemes I should look out for?
A: Yes. Make sure, before you invest one penny
in any digital product, you know the terms of use, restrictions,
and rules and conditions that you will have to follow. Ask questions.
All of this information is usually NOT posted.
I bought one master e-Book package, and later found out
that the e-Books in it could not be sold separately,
or repackaged in any way.It had to be sold with the master e-Book.
Get this, the terms of use also stated that anyone who
then chooses to resell the product could
and would be held responsible in the event one of
their customers should violate the terms of use,
or break the rules in any way. Unbelievable but true!
How could anyone take that kind of responsibility on
themselves? No one can. The package really wasn't meant to make money for the buyer.
( update: This author is now out of business.)
It could, however, get you in a lot
of legal trouble in today's lawsuit happy society.
Beware of hidden restrictions,
rules and terms and conditions that can hinder or prevent you from making money and building traffic.
Q: Who should I ask?
A: Often, it's best to ask the Author directly.
Members can ask me, if they wish. However, I usually
send questions to the Author (unless I
know the answer for sure) and then forward
the reply to you. That way, you get the straight
stuff! Keep in mind, you will have to obey the author's rules
no matter where you obtain the products.
Q: Could you please tell me what is the solution
that you are proposing?
A: I thought you would never ask! The members area contains
everything you need to create your own "Master" e-Book,
even the e-Books to put in it!
Plus, you will have support. You will be able to ask questions and get
the help and answers you need. By creating your own, you become the "Prime Source"
to your customers. This is very important, and a key to success. You won't have another company towering over
you dishing out rules and conditions, and diverting traffic
and sales away from you and to them. You will be in control, not someone else!
Isn't that why one goes in business for themselves in the first place?
Q: What does membership cost?
A: $47.99 per year. For that you get 24/7 access and all new products which are added at no additional cost.
Q: Do you mean I can gain instant access to
all the products for only $47.99
A: Yes. No fuss or hassle. No subscriptions or ongoing fees or payments.
Q: Do I have to have a web site to make money?
A: NO. We have an affiliate program that pays 50%. All you need is a Genesis Information Systems nickname.
You can earn 50% of all sales you refer to this site by simply promoting the affiliate
program. There are lots of training materials available for members that will
teach you how to become an outstanding affiliate marketer.
Q: Do I have to be a member to join the affiliate program?
A: No, you do not have to be a member to participate in the affiliate program.
Q: I have been hearing a lot about joint ventures. Do you recommend and participate
in them?
A: Joint ventures can be a win-win situation
for all parties involved. I recommend using extreme caution. It's best to have either a prior
or an ongoing business relationship with someone first, before entering into a joint venture with them. I usually won't give offers from non-members any consideration.
Q: Does Genesis Information Systems publish any exclusive products for it's members to sell?
A: Yes. Currently, we have several exclusive titles. Our sister entity, Genesis Publishing
(part of the GenWide Group, our parent organization) publishes e-Books concerning non-Internet marketing subjects, on a regular basis. These will be included with your membership at no additional cost what-so-ever. These will be Genesis Information Systems exclusive products that only members are authorized to resell.
We firmly believe that there are ready and willing markets for digital products in many
other subjects besides Internet Marketing. The trouble right now
is lack of supply, not lack of demand. For what ever reason, few authors have focused on
areas outside Internet Marketing. There are plenty of other subjects that thousands of
search queries a month are being performed for. Surprisingly, few if any digital products
are currently available to serve this large and diverse market. We are going to try and start filling
the need, although by ourselves it's doubtful we can even make a dent in it!
Q: Does that mean you will be cutting back on the
Internet marketing related products?
A: NO. We will continue to provide the other products/services
members are used to getting. This is in addition to what they are already getting! :~)
Q: Affiliate programs sound like a great marketing tool. Is it expensive to
have an affiliate program for my own web site?
A: You're very perceptive. That's the subject of several reports. And, our members have
their choice of two different affiliate programs that they can use. One's a multi- tier
plan three levels deep that tracks visitors for ten (10) years!
Q: So, the only way that I can sell is over the internet?
A: Heavens NO!! You can establish a market in any place where there are people who read!
Do you or a friend have a booth at a flea market? Have a store or business with foot traffic?
I discuss these and other options in the member section. I think it's worth knowing.
